RCG Customs Trainee Program Elizabeth, NJ

Position Summary

All-Ways Forwarding is a large and steady growing freight forwarder, located near Elizabeth/Newark Port. All-ways is looking for an individual for an excellent career opportunity in logistics/custom house brokerage. This is an excellent opportunity to get experience in the logistics industry with room for future growth. Training fully provided.

Job Duties:

Facilitate the transmission and clearance or transfer of cargo, confirming all necessary data and documents are available for entry.
Research, resolve and communicate operational or entry problems utilizing system notes and directly working with other specialty teams, client or vendors.
Review entry details and verify for compliance data related to calculation of duties, duty policy, Participating Government Agencies, trade agreements, prior notice or any specific requests by Customs for the proper filing for release.
Monitor the release and follow up on all ABI/AMS messages including rejects, holds and exam messages, working with government personnel to ensure timely release of cargo.
Executing delivery orders when applicable, assuring delivery of cargo when needed, communicating all phases of our services to customers, vendors and internally.
File ISF, Customs Declarations and all applicable PGA’s.
Follow all Customs Regulations as per CFR19
Bill all applicable files on time.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to work full time Monday-Friday in the office.

    Job Description

    • Develop new business opportunities focused on Global Forwarding, Customs/Compliance, and Domestic services for customers moving international shipments
    • Establish a Prospect Target account plan working within All-Ways’ target markets and All-Ways sales management.
    • Incorporate previous accounts into the All-Ways network.
    • Identify decision-makers at target/prospect accounts and establish regular contact.
    • Negotiate prices and conditions to develop solutions supporting customers’ requirements.
    • Create SOPs required to effectively manage the customers’ business.
    • Collaborate with All-Ways management to ensure proper account management.
    • Stay current with market conditions and trends.
    • Gather and share market intelligence while providing potential and current customer information with All-Ways’ Sales and Operational management teams.

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of industry sales experience including vertical market development.
    • Experience representing and selling U.S. Customs/Compliance services.
    • Advanced knowledge of logistical and supply chain concepts related to international freight.
    • The ability to travel to meet customers on a consistent basis.
    • Willingness to sell global markets connected to company initiatives.
    • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and motivate others.
    • Self-motivated to make quick decisions in a constantly changing environment.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong collaborator with internal support network.
